Bosby Heel Pads were first invented in 2000.  The inventor's wife suffered from heel fissures (cracked skin on heels) and a viable clean and non-pharmaceutical remedy did not seem to be available.  The husband set out to invent something that would not stain his wife's socks, or the bed sheets, that would protect cracks in the heels, effectively heel dry skin and lead to healing open heel cracks, be comfortable, retain its shape, that his wife could wear around the house without slipping off, that fits easily inside her socks and shoes when going out, and that could be washed several times in the washing machine and still retain its shape and effectivness.  After experimenting with several methods and materials, the husband discovered a specially formulated silicone material that was highly effective in healing his wife's heel fissures in only a few days.  Sensing success he tested the product on friends and neighbors, and seeing the same positive results, the inventor filed for, and was issued, a patent in 2001. 
 
Shortly thereafter the Bosby Socks company opened and has gone on to become an entrepreneurial success story.  Since that small beginning, thousands of people have used Bosby Heel Pads to heal heel dry skin and skin cracks on their heels and feet with Bosby Heel Pads and Bosby Foot Pads.  Bosby Heel Pads are still finished by hand, maintaining the same commitment to quality as in the beginning.
